Felix is a game designer, educationalist, and founder of Distant Meadows. At the Technical University of Nuremberg Georg Simon Ohm, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Media Engineering in 2020, followed by a Master’s degree in Multimedia Didactic Design at the University of Applied Sciences Ansbach in 2023. In game development, he primarily focuses on mechanics, story, and level design, but as a Creative Director in self-conceived projects, he also likes to reserve the final say on all creative decisions.
For him, game design and atmosphere take precedence over aesthetics and technology. Super Metroid, Shadow of the Colossus, Dark Souls, and Outer Wilds have left a lasting impression. As a player, he now values the creative interweaving of Schellian elements, interesting ideas in game design, and thoughtful and intuitive game controls. For the gaming industry, he wishes for fewer Roguelikes and more Metroidbrainias, less procedurally generated worlds and more handcrafted level design, less open-endedness and more concentration of experiential essences.
