FOSS GameDev Workshop

The FOSS (= Free and Open Source Software) GameDev Workshop is a weekly, social co-working format launching in February 2026. Participants work on their own game projects in a collaborative environment, with a planned gaming-related FOSS event at the end of July. The workshop will continue thereafter, evolving based on community feedback. Sessions are scheduled for Thursday evenings at Haus des Spiels in Nuremberg and are fully hybrid, welcoming participants from anywhere and with any setup.

The program brings together aspiring game developers, graphic designers, and programmers who want to deepen their skills using open-source tools. It’s free to attend, with proven experts from Distant Meadows guiding attendees in Godot, Blender, Aseprite, Linux and Nextcloud. Showcase events will give participants a platform to discuss progress with invited experts and receive constructive feedback.
